This website is devoted to Cipriano De Rore, born in Ronse (40 km south of Ghent) and one of the most important composers of the 16th century.

Little is known about the person of De Rore and of his life. However his music is of extremely great value. He was central representative for the composers of his time and of those who lived and worked after him.

During his life he was already called "Omnium Musicorum Princeps"("the first of all musicians") ! Claudio Monteverdi himself called him one of his most important sources of inspiration.
